Hi, my name is Katra, and I’ve just been notified that I’ll be let go of my job on 13 October 2026, exactly one day before I was requesting to go on paid medical leave to complete and recover from my upcoming bottom surgery, scheduled for 14 October. This feels like a malicious termination with transmisogynistic aims, and while friends have suggested that I pursue legal recourse, at the moment my well is coming up dry as I have to deal with an ending lease and moving expenses.

Due to extending my own resources to house other trans people and ensuring they get care, I don’t have a lot of savings to cushion my coming period of unemployment and surgery recovery. I’m asking the community for help to cover my rent for two months and moving expenses at the end of the year. I know this is a hard time for everyone, but I hope you’ll be able to spare a little or boost this campaign as bottom surgery is life-saving care, and this may be my only chance at having it 100% fully covered by insurance.
