Support Katie's Journey to Pain-Free Living

Hello! My name is Heather. Katie, my bestie, and her family have been going through a very difficult time. Back in April, Katie had to have emergency back surgery for the nerves in her left leg and back. She decided to close her daycare because of the amount of time it would take for her to heal and being she wouldn’t be able to do the job at all until fully healed which could have taken 4-5 months. She continued to have pain in her back even after the surgery and after the time she should have been feeling better. She ended up in Duluth once again with so much pain. They found out that her scar tissue from her first surgery was rubbing on the sheath of her nerve causing the chronic pain. Throughout all this, Richard has been there by her side, taking time from work during her surgery and her many emergency room visits. She continues to struggle with the pain as they wait for the insurance to approve another surgery for her back. They do not have a date for this surgery yet, but after that is completed she will have to be out of work for at least 6 more weeks.
