Hi, my name is Katie, and I’m a teacher and a proud mom to an incredible six-year-old boy who is a non-speaker. My son is bright, curious, and full of joy—but like so many other non-speakers, he struggles to communicate his thoughts and feelings with the world.

Recently, I discovered something life-changing: Spelling to Communicate (S2C)—a method for communication that supports individuals with motor planning challenges like apraxia to spell out their thoughts on a letterboard. This approach empowers non-speakers to finally express their intelligence, ideas, and emotions in ways that were previously inaccessible to them.

As both a mother and an educator, I feel deeply called to become certified in Spelling to Communicate. With this training, I will not only help my son find his voice, but also bring this powerful communication method to other non-speakers in our community who deserve the same opportunity to be heard.

Unfortunately, the certification process comes with significant costs that are out of reach for our family right now. That’s why I’m asking for your help.
