Support Katie's Journey to Adoption
Donation protected
Katie's funds are running out so I come to you once more asking for help... I really thought she would be adopted by now as she is truly the cutest baby but, being a black dog and a bully mix, she unfortunately is the least desirable dog when it comes to adoption.
For those who don't know who Katie is, Katie and her mom Simone (now known as Shea), were found as strays back in July. The picture below shows Simone in the front and Katie in the back, when they were living on the street.
Myself and a wonderful woman called Nela worked hard to get them off the streets. It took us 5 days. They went to a first temporary foster family and were seen by a vet. After 2 weeks, a long term foster was found and they have been with her ever since. The girls have gotten spayed, are up to date on shots, and had to do a couple more vet visits after that because Simone had a little something on her paw and Katie now has a UTI.
Simone was adopted at the beginning of October by a dad and his son and she is the happiest girl.
Katie... hasn't received a single application in 3 months.
An amazing rescue is involved, Mable's Mission, based in Hobe Sound Florida. They are helping us find Katie her forever family.
All of the donations from the previous fundraiser went straight to Simone and Katie. Simone even took her crate, bed, gear up with her to her new family. Here is a breakdown of how the donations were spent:
We need more funds for her care while she is in foster. And do not worry, anything "extra" comes out of my own pocket. For example, I decided to put Katie on a natural bladder support supplement and a probiotic and these I did not use the funds for. The funds are really used for items that are vital and necessary to them. Well... now to Katie.
I thank you for your help. We wouldn't have been able to get her the care she needs without you all.
In this world, there are people like Simone and Katie's previous owners who dumped them on the road to fend for themselves. And then there are people who donate their time and money to a dog they've never even met. Thank you for making the world a better place.
If Katie gets adopted before these funds run out (that would be amazing, fingers crossed!), the remaining funds will go to Mable's Mission (you can click on the link to see their website). Briana, the founder, is the most amazing and selfless woman. She is the one that found the family for Simone and she is doing everything she can to help us find another one for Katie. She pulls dogs that are euthanasia listed in kill shelters and gives them a second chance. And when I was under so much stress desperately trying to find a rescue to commit to the girls, Briana is one of the very few that answered and was so supportive from the start. I don't know what I would have done without her.
