The Background:

As many of you may know, Katelyn/Katie is not well. She's been getting progressively sicker for months now, despite endless doctor's appointments, scans, and testing.

Katie was an active and vibrant full-time EMT with EmergyCare as recently as May. Now, only three months later, she doesn't even drive because of her mysteriously worsening conditions.

She goes back and forth countless times to PCPs, cardiologists, neurologists, rheumatologists, physical therapists, and more, all since last year. She is now significantly worse than she was last year, and, despite the medical attention, she has no answers or even good guesses about what could be causing her body to be in such disarray.

This won't be the place for details; I will let Katie share those if she wishes. Instead, this is the place for those who care about Katie and her health to rally in support of her....

The Plan:

Katie has agreed to try an alternative route to get some answers that, so far, no doctor has been able to find. She and her husband Gavin hope to visit

My Function First in Butler, PA

to see the well-respected Dr. Jaison Golojuh, Certified Functional Medicine doctor (*highly recommended*). The testing, diagnostics, and treatments done at My Function First are different than the average conventional ones and are uniquely helpful in cases like Katie's where multiple doctors seem unable to find a root cause of her problems. Of course, Katie will continue to schedule and go to all her other appointments, and, of course, everything at MFF is safe (and oftentimes super effective and healing).

The Catch:

Alternative testing isn't cheap, and most of it is not covered by insurance. We really, really, really want to see Katie be able to get to Butler, but she is far from able to afford yet another doctor, much less a naturopathic one.

This is where you and I come in:

Katie reluctantly but sweetly agreed to let me set this GoFundMe up for her, even though she doesn't want "anyone stressed about trying to pay for things for me." I assured her that many of us would be more than happy to give money to try to help her find a light at the end of this dark tunnel of sickness she is in right now.

The money raised here will allow for Katie to get extensive blood testing and begin treatments with Dr Jaison. This could be a game-changer for Katie's understanding of what is happening in her body, but she needs financial help to get these answers.

Please consider giving Katie what you can afford. I promise you, she and Gavin will be eternally grateful. Then when she's all better and improving the world, I'm sure she will pay it all forward to others.

Lastly but importantly, please keep Katie in your prayers. This is a tremendously difficult time for her and Gavin and she could use the grace to keep her chin up (physically and metaphorically).
