Katie was recently diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. This news has turned her world upside down, as she now faces months of intensive chemotherapy and the many challenges that come with it. While Katie is managing to keep up with one online class, most of her energy is focused on her treatments and recovery. She is determined to return to college in the fall, but in the meantime, she must begin paying rent on her apartment starting in June.

Katie had planned to work at camp this summer to help cover her living expenses, but her chemo treatments will make it impossible for her to work there. On top of that, insurance may not cover all the recommended follow up care. These added medical expenses, along with her rent and daily living costs, have created a significant financial burden for Katie and her family.
