Hi I'm Katie.

I was recently diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, which has spread to my lymph nodes and bones. Over the coming months I will be undergoing six rounds of chemotherapy, followed by ongoing targeted therapy treatment to help manage my cancer.

As I focus on treatment, there will be times when I need to step away from work to rest, recover and manage the side effects of chemotherapy. While I hope to return to work as soon as I can, the reality is that my recovery will take time, and I may need a phased return before I'm able to resume my normal hours.

I'm raising funds to help ease the financial pressure that comes with living with metastatic breast cancer. The money raised will help cover lost income, household bills, travel to and from treatment, and the many unexpected costs that can arise throughout my treatment and recovery. If my family faces further expenses in the future as a result of my illness, including end of life costs, these funds will also help ease that burden.

Asking for help doesn't come naturally to me, but I've realised that accepting support is one of the ways people can stand beside us on this journey.
