Katie & José Soqui welcomed their new baby girl much earlier than expected on March 23rd! So much earlier than expected that they were away from their home in Nashville, having traveled to Texas for a family wedding (see more details from Katie below).
Josie is expected to stay in the hospital until her due date (12 weeks from her birth), so this sweet family has a lot of financial needs, most immediately being food and housing. The donated money will help them keep their family together and cared for as they stay close to Josie and will help with all the medical bills that follow.
From Katie:
It’s not the birth announcement we had planned, but we are thrilled to introduce you to our tiny warrior princess.
While we were traveling in Texas for a beautiful family wedding, Josie decided she was missing out on the party and wanted “State of Texas” on her birth certificate. Despite many attempts by the doctors in Huntsville and Houston to slow her down, she was bound and determined to arrive at 28 weeks on March 23rd, weighing 2lbs 10oz. So far, she has been doing amazing. We’ve had great reports from the NICU doctors and nurses, and we ask for prayers that the reports continue to be positive as she grows.
And because we can’t forget about our special big sister, Lily is also doing amazing and adores her baby sister. She’s talked to Josie via FaceTime and will hopefully get to meet her in person in a couple weeks.
We know the word has spread amongst family, friends, our church family, and work families, and we are so thankful for the texts, calls, and offers of help. We are so incredibly grateful for the prayers, support, encouragement, and generosity everyone has given to us. We’ve seen God’s hand at work in this situation, and we can’t wait until we can bring our sweet little girl home to meet everyone.
If we are delayed in replying to you, please know that we will get back to you as soon as we can, but that we are so grateful for you! ❤️
