Hey folks. As many of you know, Katie Birdsell had a small stroke in April. While she’s been super brave through this whole experience, and is recovering at home now (being well cared for by her band of dudes) the longterm effects of this incident are still not completely known.

Katie continues to experience some challenging medical symptoms that fluctuate day-to-day, making a return to full-time work challenging. Her ongoing recovery will also benefit hugely from the support of relevant health professionals, as Katie will need many months of physiotherapy. In addition there are a few items that will help Katie in her efforts to prioritize rest as well as rehabilitation, such as a comfortable couch for the shop and a walking treadmill.

We’d like to offer up this page so lovers of Katie, the Birdsells and Grow (the chocolate shop that is always donating and offering back to this community) can choose to contribute to these expenses. It’s probably no surprise that Katie’s totally uncomfortable with being in the position of accepting this kind of help. A big thanks to everyone in this community for holding her family close during a really hard time. They loved you before this, but they really love you now.
