Support Katie & Brandon's Fight Against Leukemia

Donation protected
Hi everyone. I’m making this gofund me for a mom and little boy who have endured endless battles the past couple years. This is her story:

Katie is a single mom doing this with 2 boys on her own. Her youngest son got diagnosed with Leukemia when he was little. Since then there have been nothing but an endless battle, back and forth between recovery, and hitting another life threatening speed bump. The pain this little child and mother have had to endure is nothing short of terrifying and exhausting. He has B-cell acute Lymphoblastic leukemia and has gone through much chemotherapy. From spinal fluid injections, to two months straight of the norovirus, mucositis, bone marrow extractions, looking good to go home but they lost their home due to bills. Then BAM, another hurdle. Coating his brain with chemo, in the middle of this surgery he had trouble breathing and spiked an immediate fever, and tested positive for rhinovirus and parainfluenza. Later on he fell and hit his head so hard in the hospital floor after slipping and ended up extensively vomiting everywhere. After some time, he started responding well to chemo and has been given permission to continue chemo at home. But that’s definitely not where it ends. He then contracted RSV and rushed to Seattle again. Where they heard the horrific new that he tested positive for pneumococcal meningitis infection in his brain. After slow and painful recovery, they continue to more chemo. He was starting to build his body strength back. After Christmas he started to have the body and spirit that a little boy should have. But then, another hurdle, his port installation got clogged and became infected with cellulitis inside his chest and is no longer useable for chemo, so they started multiple IV’s. Norovirus then hits him again and they’re rushed back for weeks. After some more time, he’s still on a feeding tube but able to start chewing soft foods. Meanwhile the doctors are doing their best with the clogged port in his chest. Then he extracts coronavirus. Then Katie got corona and it turned into viral pharyngitis. Both child and mom in distress. No mother should have to endure this. After time again, Brandon’s cute hair is starting to grow back. All while dealing with the pain and vomiting of chemo. During another surgery Katie got paged from the doctors that there’s an emergency. The new port installation didn’t go well and isn’t working. So now they have to go through his neck. Then, on their way back from a routine Seattle appointment, brandon goes into respiratory distress in the car. A new case of rhinovirus has turned into pneumonia with a 103 fever and he is barely able to breathe. Rushed back again. Later on he becomes more alert after being taken care of at the hospital. He’s stable as of now but these speed bumps are life threatening. Seattle hospital doesn't cover during Brandons unplanned emergency stays that are beginning to drain the family of every dime they have. Brandon will need to be on Chemotherapy for another year and a half. His poor older brother Chace, having his mom gone so much. The price of daycare and medical bills. Even having car parts stolen from Katie’s vehicle while parked in Seattle. She’s lost her car. Things just won’t subside and the strength this family has is heartbreakingly beautiful. Please help in any way you can. They deserve peace. Whatever kind of peace we can give them.
