Support Katie and Zachary after their accident

Any help is greatly appreciated

My name is Katie and I was involved in an accident with my boyfriend, Zachary, while we were traveling to visit family.

We were on the way out of Texas when heavy rainstorms began and we were in a tornado watch zone. We decided to reroute to get out of the bad weather. As we were backtracking and almost out of the severe weather, the road conditions were so bad that we hydroplaned and lost control of the vehicle. We were driving on a two lane road and ended up on the opposite side of the road where we were hit on the passenger side of the car and pushed into a ditch. All of our belongings were ejected from the vehicle and some things were not recovered. Some of the items that we were able to recover were broken. In the moment, these items were the least of our worries, of course. We were put in an ambulance and rushed to a nearby hospital. I only sustained internal injuries including a sprained shoulder, a chest contusion, and lots of bone bruising. Zachary did have a visible facial laceration and a head injury. This truly was the most traumatic and scary experience I have ever had in my life. I am so grateful that God was with us and that we are home safe today. We both are mainly just emotionally traumatized by the whole situation.

We started this GoFundMe to help us raise funds for a new vehicle as I am finishing my last semester of college this summer. I will be starting a full time job very soon, as I’ll need a new vehicle to commute to and from work of course. The funds will also assist us in replacing lost items that were ejected from the vehicle. So if you feel led to contribute, we will be so grateful
