My name is Bathschèba Duronvil, and I am opening this fundraiser on behalf of my sister, Katia Rose. On Friday July 31st, Katia was admitted to the emergency room, septic and anemic. After a CT scan, MRI, and other testing, it was found that Katia has a type of colon cancer called adenocarcinoma. It has progressed from her colon and appears to be a large mass overtaking the circumference of the left side of her torso. Katia is in an immense amount of pain, as the tumor is pressing hard against her kidneys, stomach, and other important organs.

Treatment is imminent, as Katia is at a high risk of the tumor spreading to her liver, chest and causing a hole in her stomach. This news has been absolutely devastating for Katia and the rest of her family and friends. There are still so many unanswered questions as we anxiously await her final biopsy later this month.

Katia will be getting her cancer treatment at the Emory Winship Cancer Institute, and we need your help in Katia’s battle against cancer.

Katia is a strong and stubborn person and would never do this for herself. She is quick to support the people around her, but this is the time to put herself first. As family and friends who care dearly about her, we are looking for financial support to help with Katia’s radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery. This is going to be a long battle, but we are prepared to keep this beautiful soul with us so she can continue to share her light with others.
