Hey there, friends, family, and compassionate strangers,
We're reaching out to you today with heavy hearts to share some devastating news about Kathy. After enjoying a wonderful Mother's Day weekend with us, she was involved in a terrible car accident on I-90 near Ellensburg while heading back home to Maple Valley. Out of nowhere, another driver suddenly swerved into her lane, in turn she swerved to avoid getting hit causing her to lose control of the vehicle. The car flipped multiple times, causing severe injuries upon Kathy. severe injuries.
We can't thank the brave rescue workers enough for their incredible response. They, along with a bunch of kind-hearted folks, including off-duty rescue workers, came to Kathy's aid. Working together, they courageously lifted the truck so they could get Kathy out of the vehicle.. However, the accident left Kathy They courageously worked together to lift the truck, so they could get her out of the vehicle.
Kathy has endured extensive injuries from this traumatic incident. She sustained skull fractures, dislocated shoulder and knee joints, several broken ribs, including three floating ribs. Fractures in both of her legs one of which she still has no feeling or movement in. She has had one surgery on her leg and will need more. She had to have teeth removed because they were knocked loose from the accident which makes it very difficult to eat and drink and she still has a constant ringing in her ears and cannot hear well.
The road to recovery ahead for Kathy is going to be tough, both physically and emotionally. To make matters worse, she was driving her grandson Kuyler's truck because her own vehicle was out of commission. The unfortunate part is that Kathy only had liability insurance, leaving her exposed to mounting expenses and the complete loss of a vehicle.
To support Kathy during this trying time, we've started a GoFundMe campaign. We're rallying together to provide her with the financial assistance she desperately needs. The funds we raise will go towards covering significant travel costs and everyday expenses required to ensure her well-being throughout her recovery journey.
