Support Kathy Thibault's Battle with Glioblastoma
Donation protected
On July 1, our mom, Kathy Thibault, went in for what we all thought would be a routine MRI. It was early in the morning, so she and Stacy were making breakfast plans and talking about upcoming birthdays, the holiday, and summer. By 8am, they were on their way to Vassar Hospital's emergency room - Mom had a mass in her brain and needed immediate acute care. On July 5, surgeons resected a tumor in her frontal lobe, and tests returned for a high-grade neoplasm, most likely a glioblastoma. By August 5, we were starting an aggressive regimen of oral chemotherapy and targeted radiation to her brain. Despite all our best hopes for a longer-term survival plan, Mom has grown weaker and her bone marrow is having a hard time recovering from treatments and the disease. She is in Vassar right now, while doctors work to prolong her life and bring her strength back. She refuses to allow this devastating disease to take her over, and we just want to get her home, where she can rest in comfort, surrounded by her family, who loves her unconditionally. To get her there, we need help: she needs equipment (~$5,000), treatments, and health care assistance (~$5,000, much of it not covered by health insurance). If you know us, you know that we usually wouldn't ask for anything from all of you, but this... this is for our Mama. We love her, we know YOU love her, and we need your help.
With our love and friendship always,
The Thibault Family (Tara, Stacy, Joshua, Johanna, Dylan, Matthew, and Jesse)
