KC (Kathy) Norman is my step mom, and she is genuinely the kindest, strongest, most selfless person I know. On March 25th, KC was admitted to Strong hospital, went through extensive testing, and then a short time later was diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia. She was transferred to the Wilmot Cancer Center where she spent 30 days in the hospital severely immunocompromised, receiving countless infusions to improve her health, and, of course, started her cancer treatment. Although APL has a good prognosis, it requires 8 months of daily treatment which means KC has to miss a significant amount of work time.

In 2009, my step mom became a single mom when my dad was murdered. She did everything she possibly could to transition my two younger siblings into this new life without a dad. She moved mountains and raised two of the best people I know. As she navigates through this difficult time, I would love nothing more than to help ease the financial burden she is facing. Between medical bills, housing bills, and the added cost of traveling to Strong’s Wilmot Cancer Center 5 days a week for infusion treatments, she has taken a significant hit financially. Unfortunately, the disability she is offered is only a small fraction of her normal weekly income. This is making time she should be spending focused on healing significantly more stressful. KC would give you the shirt off her back, and I’d really love to help her in any way that I can.
