Support Kathy Mock’s Fight for Recovery

Donation protected
On behalf of John and Kathy Mock, our family has come together to ask for your support as Kathy continues her courageous battle toward recovery.
John and Kathy have shared a beautiful 53-year marriage—one built on love, dedication, and resilience. John, a hardworking owner-operator for over 30 years, has always carried the financial responsibility of their household and medical insurance, working tirelessly to provide for his family. But now, he needs our help.

A Decade of Challenges, A Lifetime of Strength
Kathy’s health struggles began over a decade ago. She has suffered 13 strokes, including a major one in 2013 that took her peripheral vision, forcing her to give up driving and even her beloved bowling team. Despite these hardships, she has remained strong, but the past six months have been incredibly tough.

In late 2024, Kathy was diagnosed with a growth on her intestines and a prolapsed bladder—both of which required surgery. However, due to an infection, her procedures had to be delayed for months.
• Dec 12, 2024: Surgery to remove the growth
• Jan 8, 2025: Emergency hernia repair
• Jan 13, 2025: Surgery to repair her bladder
Just when we thought she was on the road to recovery, tragedy struck.

A Life-Threatening Heart Crisis
On January 14th, Kathy suddenly struggled to breathe and was rushed to the hospital. Tests confirmed she had suffered a major heart attack, requiring an urgent transfer to Johns Hopkins for life-saving heart surgery. But was delayed for days waiting for an open bed.
• Jan 23, 2025: 4 stents placed in the left side of her heart. The surgery was so long they wanted to do the right side later to give her heart a rest.
• Jan 28, 2025: 2 more stents placed in the right side of her heart
She was sent home to heal before undergoing a crucial heart valve replacement on February 7th, but once again, life had other plans.
In the early hours of February 7th, Kathy’s breathing worsened, and John rushed her 1.5 hours back to Johns Hopkins. Upon arrival, doctors found fluid buildup around her heart—she was too weak to undergo surgery.
• Feb 8, 2025: Emergency surgery to insert a balloon pump to keep her heart working.
• Doctors delivered heartbreaking news: she had only a 15% chance of being strong enough for her permanent heart valve replacement.

Despite everything, Kathy remains her chatty, goofy self—showing the same resilience that has carried her through every battle. She is now fighting an E. coli infection. If she continues to improve. She will be cleared for a temporary heart valve surgery this week. This procedure will remove the external machine and, hopefully, help her regain enough strength for a permanent replacement.

How You Can Help
Through it all, John has never left Kathy’s side. But being out of work means mounting medical bills, insurance costs, and daily expenses are piling up. John has always been the first to lend a helping hand—now it’s our turn to help him.

Your donations will allow John to remain by Kathy’s side without the burden of financial stress. Funds raised will go directly toward:
✅ Covering medical expenses
✅ Paying health insurance premiums
✅ Covering monthly medication costs
✅ Keeping up with household bills

If you know John, you know he is the most selfless man—always putting his family first and giving to others without hesitation. Now, we ask for your support to show John and Kathy the same love and generosity they have always shared with others.

Every donation, share, and prayer makes a difference.
Thank you all, and God bless.
We will continue to post updates on Kathy’s journey.
