My name is Nancy Falardeau and I, as well as Cindy Maier have known Kathy Michael since early childhood and attended school with her until our graduation from Waterford Mott High School in June 1977. Most of our friends on Facebook know Kathy as well because they have attended school with her at Lambert, Burt Elementary, Crary Jr. High and/or Waterford Mott High School.

In 2023, Kathy was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. She learned that the possibility for surgery to remove the golf ball-size tumor was not an option because it was located in an inaccessible area of her colon. After weighing her options, she decided to start radiation treatments in October 2024 five days a week and have scans to track the progress. Thankfully, her partner Kurt has been by her side supporting her in every way that he can including home care, moral support and taking her to her appointments.

Kathy is currently living in Mesa, AZ with Kurt. She has been unable to work and is struggling to make ends meet with the medical bills she has been receiving. Kurt has been unable to work as well since he is Kathy's primary caregiver.
