Kathy Gedney was a beloved friend, animal lover, and the heart behind Club SyrV Volleyball Club. Her sudden passing on December 4th has left a deep void in our community. Kathy touched countless lives through her kindness, her passion for volleyball, and her unwavering support for both people and animals. I remember visiting her home and being greeted by a baby goat in a diaper—Kathy was caring for it until it grew strong enough to return to the farm. She once traveled to Texas and returned with a dog she rescued, always opening her heart and home to those in need.

Through Club SyrV, Kathy helped create a supportive space for families, especially those facing tough times. Her generosity and spirit brought people together, and her legacy will live on in the lives she changed. Now, we want to give back to Kathy by supporting her family in their time of need. The funds raised will go directly to funeral expenses and travel costs for her children, who live out of state, so they can be together and honor her memory.
