My name is Jerry, and I have been with the same lady for 30 years now. Believe me, just like everybody else, we've had our ups and downs in life. Kathy has been my rock, and me as hers.
The reason why I am on GoFundMe is that in the past 2 months, my business has shut down due to illness. Kathy was diagnosed with what's called MG. I know the G stands for gravis, but I don't know how to pronounce the first word. It slowly takes the life out of you. You can do infusions that are supposed to help, but so far, we believe the infusions are now stabilizing and possibly not doing Kathleen any benefit.
Every year at Christmas time, I always get her a bouquet of flowers—daisies and a bunch of other different flowers—a very colorful bouquet. We are both very proud people and very independent and don't like to ask for help in any way. My health is not doing good at all. I have been trying to get my Social Security so this it wouldn't put so much of a financial burden on the both of us. Unfortunately, being that I was born abroad in Germany and having an outdated passport, I am having to jump through hoops to incredible measures just to prove I am an American.
In the past 4 weeks, we have had our water shut off, our electricity turned off, and our internet service turned off. We both have our faith in God, and that is what is helping us through this. Kathy had a phone call last Thursday at 5:10 a.m. and was told her oldest son, 56-year-old James Moran Jr., had passed from a massive heart attack. No parent should ever have to go through that; it is a devastating loss. James leaves behind his wife Nicole, his son Brian, his other two sons Mark and RJ, and his daughter Brandy. He was also raising his three grandchildren, which he loved dearly.
This year's Christmas is definitely out of the question financially for all of us. The only thing that I am asking for is to help me out so I can buy Kathy her bouquet of flowers. It's not much, but our love for each other keeps the faith going. It would mean the world to me to make sure that I don't stop the trend.
May God bless all of you. I hope that everyone who reads this realizes love and family and faith in God is what life is truly about! May everyone have a blessed Christmas and take the extra moment to spend time with your family, your loved ones, your children. If you like, please say a prayer for Kathy and Jerry, James Moran's family, and also for all your loved ones. Time is short; don't have any regrets. If you have issues in your family, relatives that you don't want to talk to, get over it because when they're gone, you can't make peace with them. May God bless you all and have a very merry Christmas and take the time to spend with your family.
Jerry Marcum Kathy Moran
