Support Kathryn's Journey to Success

Kathryn has a very busy summer of opportunities lined up both in Civil Air Patrol as well as through an educational opportunity. She has been accepted to WYSE. WYSE is the Washington Youth Summit on the Environment in Fairfax, Virginia at George Mason University. She has received a scholarship based on her grades that pays a very large portion of the expenses of this trip; however, she still has to get there! This opportunity gives her a chance to meet with our Senator as well as see our capitol and learn more about conservation. You can read more about this program at https://wyse.gmu.edu/.

In addition to this opportunity, Kathryn was slotted to attend the 2025 Mid Atlantic Region Cadet Leadership School in Cherry Point, North Carolina. In this course, students will acquire practical experience in leading indirectly, problem-solving, effective writing, speaking, and group dynamics. Cadets who successfully complete this course become eligible to receive the Eaker Award and gain fundamental officership skills.

These two events take place a month apart and as such, this will require a second plane ticket for her to attend. We have made it a priority to see that she gets there but we need your help!

Kathryn is a Chief Master Sergeant with Civil Air Patrol in the Flathead Composite Squadron. https://flathead.cap.gov/. She is a high honor student enrolled through the A Beka Academy, maintaining straight A's her entire high school career. In addition to Civil Air Patrol, Kathryn is involved in her 9th year with Homeschool Theater Club and participates in their annual production. Additionally, Kathryn works every evening doing janitorial work, assisting her mom in cleaning a local veterinary clinic. Kathryn has dreamed of joining the Air Force since she was 9 years old and has now made it her goal to get into the Air Force Academy.
