Hello, my name is Kathryn. I’m 57, a mom to two boys, ages 37 and soon to be 32. I have 7 grandchildren, 5 boys and 2 girls. My youngest son passed away from SIDS when he was 18 days old back in 1996. I grew up in California and over the years lived in California, Arizona, Oregon, Washington State, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, and now Missouri. Back on August 5, 2003, I was burned on 80% of my body at the hands of domestic violence. I have had 175 surgeries over the past 22 years. I am a Christian and go to a Baptist church; I've been there for 20 years now. I have been on disability for 20 years. I have tried going back to work, even went back and got my high school degree and my associate's degree after the burns, but I have been in such bad health. It’s hard for me to keep a job because I can’t be reliable enough to be there, as I never know when I’m gonna be feeling well or not. Of course, there’s a lot to do. My disability also is mental because I deal with a lot of depression and anxiety. Some days it’s very hard and others not so bad, but it is very hard to look in the mirror because that’s just something many survivors can relate to. We feel like ourselves who we were before our burns or scars, but when we look in the mirror, our reflection is not even the same. But I am thankful, very, very thankful that I was able to live and get to raise my boys and be proud of my family. My parents were divorced many years ago, so my dad and my stepmom are in California, and my mom and my stepdad are here in Missouri. They have all been a very great part of my recovery and help in my everyday way of life, but I cannot keep asking them always to help me because it’s not fair. I am in tremendous need of a vehicle so I can get around and do my everyday activities, even doctor's appointments. I’m getting ready for three more surgeries here in the next 30 days, and I am also trying to find a place to move. I have gotten approved for Section 8 housing, which will help out tremendously, but I will need the funding for the deposit and everything that comes along with that. My vehicle now is inoperable and needs to be hauled to the junkyard. I have no way to get it there either. I live in the middle of nowhere in a very tiny town, and I’d like to get relocated to somewhere where I can be more of a tool and help God help me and others, where we can help each other and keep each other inspired. I like to go to the burn unit in Springfield, Missouri, and help other survivors get through all the tremendous hurdles that they will have. I’m asking if you could help me get a car and enough money for my deposit. My baby dog is very sick; he’s in congestive heart failure, and I don’t have the funding for that. He has to go to the vet, and I have to have him there soon. I hope you can find it in your heart to be able to help in any way possible. I will use it tremendously towards everything that I have talked about. I will not waste one cent of any donation. God bless you, and I thank you.
i will provide proof of vet bills
I will be taking him to All creatures veterinary in bolivar Missouri and I will be looking to buy transportation in Buffalo Missouri. There’s a car lot there that I am looking at a card that I would hoping to get funding for but no matter where I purchased a vehicle from I will post it and pictures and also when I get moved please I need your help Thank you
