Help Support Kathryn Through Breast Cancer Treatment

Hello! My name is Lauren. One of my best friends, Kathryn, was just diagnosed with grade 3 triple-negative breast cancer. This was completely unexpected and has been devastating.

Kathryn is a newlywed of just a few months, a newly licensed veterinarian, and a proud parent to a beautiful family of pets. She is only 25 years old but has already overcome more challenges than anyone else I know. She’s been tackling this diagnosis like everything else she has faced before, with strength and determination. The stage of her cancer is currently unknown until further testing is done. There is no option for targeted treatment or hormone therapies; she will require a double mastectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation.

There is a long road ahead for her treatment, but we are hopeful that the prognosis is positive.

It is overwhelming enough having to deal with a cancer diagnosis, let alone all of the financial burden that comes along with it. In addition to dealing with treatment and paying medical bills, Kathryn will be losing her student loans that she uses for living expenses, her graduation will be delayed, and because of that, her employment will also be delayed. This loss of income will have detrimental effects if we don’t step in and offer our support. Kathryn, and her husband, Brandon, should not have to worry about these things while they are focused on her treatment.
