Kathryn QannaYahu Kern has spent most of her life working in non-profits, dedicating herself to helping others and making a positive impact on her community. In 2014, Kathryn suffered a traumatic brain injury that changed her life forever. Since then, she has been unable to walk, feed herself, and struggles with communication. Currently, Kathryn resides in a nursing home in Helena, MT, but she is hoping to move into her ADA-accessible apartment where she can receive more personalized care and regain some independence.
While Kathryn qualifies for Medicaid, there is a gap in funding as programs, staffing, and requirements are being put in place. During this transition, Kathryn needs temporary support to pay caregivers who can help her with daily tasks and ensure her safety and comfort. Your donation will directly support Kathryn’s care, helping her bridge this critical period until all necessary resources are available.
Kathryn’s story is a stark reminder that none of us can truly prepare for a tragedy of this magnitude. Despite her years of service to others, she now finds herself in need of help. Any support you can offer will make a meaningful difference in Kathryn’s life, and we are deeply grateful for your kindness and generosity.
