Support Kathleen's Recovery from Melanoma
Donation protected
Last month, my sister Kathleen was diagnosed with stage 3 melanoma. The news was a huge shock to the entire family, especially Kath who is a single mother to two amazing kiddos. Luckily, her medical team was able to operate shortly after diagnosis and remove the entirety of the cancer, with no additional treatment needed. We are so beyond grateful for this, and although the weight of an unexpected cancer diagnosis has been lifted off her shoulders, the weight of medical bills and unpaid leave remains. As we all know, there are many systems in place making access to healthcare a privilege many can't afford, and the long-term financial burden of a medical emergency can be devestating.
Kathleen works two jobs to support herself and her two children, and due to the location of the melanoma (her ankle), and the depth to which the cancer was extracted, she is unable to walk and get around on her own for at least the next 4-6 weeks, and due to the nature of her work will therefore be out of work for that time.
We are hoping to help ease some of this financial stress as she heals, so she and her family can have the time and space needed to fully recover. If you are able to donate, any amount would be so appreciated. Support can also be given just by sharing this link. Thank you so much for reading!
