Dear Friends and Loved Ones,
I'm reaching out during what has become an unexpected chapter in my life. I've been diagnosed with breast cancer and will be undergoing surgery in two weeks.
Many of you know me as someone who has always tried to be there for others - bringing meals, offering rides, lending a listening ear. Today, I find myself in the humbling place of opening my heart to receive the kindness I've tried to share with others.
After my surgery, my medical team will determine the path forward for my treatment. The bills are already beginning to arrive, and I know this journey will bring extended treatment sessions and mounting expenses.
Like so many of us, I've been living paycheck to paycheck, watching expenses rise faster than wages ever could. These last few years have been tough on everyone I know - grocery prices doubled, gas prices soared, and my 25-cent yearly raise feels like a cruel joke against the reality of inflation. I was already struggling to make ends meet before hearing the word "cancer." Now, the financial reality feels impossible.
My car, which will be my lifeline to treatments, desperately needs brakes and tires for safety. I lie awake worrying about keeping a roof over my head while managing the medical costs that are coming. These worries steal energy I need for healing.
I'm turning to my community - to you - with an open heart. Your support would be love in action, a tangible reminder that I'm not walking this path alone. Any help you feel moved to give would lift not just the financial burden, but also my spirits, allowing me to focus on what matters most: healing and getting well.
Whether you're able to donate, share this message, or simply keep me in your prayers, please know that each gesture of kindness strengthens me. You're not just helping with bills - you're holding me up during the hardest fight of my life.
I promise to keep you updated after my surgery and throughout this journey. Your presence in my life, in whatever form it takes, is a blessing I don't take for granted.
Thank you for being the kind of people who show up for others. Thank you for being my village.
With a grateful heart,
Kathleen (Kitty) Bradley
