Hello, I am making this go fund me for my mother Kathleen who is suffering from Squamous cell carcinoma anal AND rectal cancer.

September 19 our entire worlds changed! As my mom went in for just a standard colonoscopy to be awoken from the surgery with bad news that she has rectal cancer. After doing biopsies, scans, blood work etc. she was diagnosed with Squamous cell carcinoma anal cancer, shortly after she received this diagnoses, she got news on a new scan that she has another mass in her rectal area, which delayed all treatment until further biopsies were completed. This biopsy found that the new mass in her rectal area was the same squamous cell carcinoma cancer cells. A few short weeks later she started her chemo treatment and is currently receiving radiation 5 days a week for 29 treatments in total as well as two weeks of chemotherapy.

She is currently receiving all these treatments during the holidays, making her not feel well and is immune compromised which means much less family time with her daughter (myself) and her two grand daughters. This has been very difficult for her and is receiving cancer counseling as well as pain management just to try and help her get through this!

My mother Kathleen lives 2 hours away from me, so travel time and assisting her when in need for appointments or when feeling unwell while also taking care of my family has been a struggle. She doesn't have much physical or financial support from any family or friends other than myself, and is unable to work under her conditions.

She is self-employed and works for herself and is currently unable to work as she is undergoing chemo treatment and daily radiation treatments. She has had to take a lot of time off due to symptoms effecting her livelihood as well as her treatments making it difficult to work around with multiple appointments for more blood work, CT scans, counseling and pain management. She is paying for a private insurance, and her insurance is not covering a lot of her treatment. With having to pay out of pocket for multiple CT scans and PET scans, weekly doctor appointments, medications etc she is becoming concerned about her current monthly bills being unpaid and at risk for reposition on her car.

She still has a long way to go, and a lot more scans and doctor appointments even after these 29 treatments are completed.

This has all taken a major toll on our family, we ask for any and all help to help ease her mind just a little during this holiday season. We understand the holidays are hard on everyone, but Please if you can help in anyway, it would be beyond appreciated and forever grateful!
