Support Kathleen Hummer's Heart Transplant Journey

On January 6th, 2025, my mother, Kathleen Hummer, went into the hospital thinking she was suffering from a bad bout of pneumonia. Unfortunately, she was not suffering from pneumonia at all, but severe heart failure.

Her heart was working at such a diminished capacity that she went into cardiogenic shock and she was admitted to the ICU.

Fortunately, the doctors were able to stabilize her and began investigating what could be the cause, as she had no prior history of heart conditions.

After weeks of testing, the cause is still unknown; what we do know is that she cannot continue on with the heart she has. After our initial shock at her condition, our family was rocked again by the news that at 58 and otherwise healthy, our mom needs a heart transplant.

Currently, our mom is in the ICU receiving life-saving care, waiting for her heart on the transplant list. With her permission, my siblings and I wanted to begin raising funds to aid our parents with medical costs which will come at the end of this long journey for mom.
