My name is Melissa and our family is raising money for my mother-in-law, Kathie, to assist with bills for the upcoming months. If you are lucky enough to know Kathie, you know how incredibly gracious, warm, and kind-hearted she is.

Last October, we received the news that she has a rare genetic condition called Alpha-1 Antitrypsin, which has attacked her liver and caused it to fail. Kathie received the call on Saturday, November 1st, that a life-saving liver had become available to her. She had her liver transplant surgery November 2nd and is still in the ICU recovering. Kathie has unfortunately used all of her PTO and FMLA due to hospital stays and many doctor's appointments that came with this diagnosis. She will have a long road ahead of her in recovery, and our family is asking if you are able to help in any way to alleviate some of the stress of bills for the upcoming months while she recovers from the surgery.
