Hello :) My name is Kate Russell. I’m 17 years old and trying to fund a chance to attend school for one year in Sweden with AFS, the longest running international exchange organization the world! I’ve been wanting to go since I was very young and heard stories of my mum doing the same thing when she was my age. I’m really passionate about learning languages and learning about other cultures, and how people live all around the world.

The point of AFS is to help active global citizens develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world. I hope to continue that mission during my trip.

I applied to AFS and was accepted six months ago and I’ve been working for the past year to save enough money to go, but this program is quite expensive and having enough money for it is difficult for our family. Any donation that can be made helps so much! I also have another side hustle doing henna designs, so if we live close to each other, I would be happy to design one on you in exchange for supporting this cause!
