Kate is one of the most hardworking and independent people I know. Before her scoliosis became severe, she worked as a loan officer, helping others achieve their dreams. As her condition worsened, it became too painful for her to sit at a desk, so she began taking on odd jobs like landscaping and house cleaning to make ends meet. Despite her constant pain and the challenges she faces every day, Kate never complains and always finds a way to keep going. She is sweet, kind, and never gives up, no matter how tough things get.

Recently, Kate was finally scheduled for a surgery that would greatly improve her quality of life. She had been saving diligently to cover her living expenses during her recovery, planning for about two and a half months away from work. She even arranged for people to fill in for her while she healed. But just before her surgery, it was cancelled because one of the surgical team members could not be present. Now, Kate has to wait another month for her surgery and will need even more time to recover. Her savings will run out before she is able to return to work, and her mom, who flew out from Wisconsin to help, cannot afford to come back again.
