Hi everyone. I’m Kate. For my entire adult life, I’ve worked. I’ve never needed much help, I am incredibly self sufficient. I’ve built a career in the dog grooming industry for myself.

This week, I went to the ER with 9/10 back pain. I found out I have two herniations of the same disc, rendering me bed bound and reliant on a cane. When I went to reach out to my boss, I was met with a message that the Chicago branch of my job had closed with no notice, and, effective immediately, I was jobless.

With the instructions from my doctor to be out of work for at least a month, and a wedding nine months away that I need to save for, I am running out of options.

Currently my sister and (soon to be) fiancé are picking up the costs of rent and bills. That leaves us with no money to save for our wedding and I want to be able to contribute until I am back on my feet. The wedding deposits are non refundable so it’s not like we can push it back any. 

Any donations are more than appreciated, and I am embarrassed for having to resort to this in the first place. I should be up and at em within the next month, provided that I don’t need surgery (it’s a 50/50 shot at the moment). I’m just terrified and lost and don’t know what to do. Thank you.
