Support Kate's battle with ovarian cancer
Donation protected
Last November, our favourite friend, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin and hairdresser, Kate, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Cancer. It’s a word nobody ever wants to hear. Take that big, scary, life-changing word and dish it out to a 33-year-old woman who dreams about starting a family, and it’s more heartbreaking than ever.
In December, Kate underwent surgery to have large tumours which engulfed her ovaries removed. Five hours later, she’d had a full hysterectomy, part of her bowel removed and her dreams shattered. She will never create or carry her own child. To top it off, her butthole is now on her tummy. No one should have to grapple with this. Kate is now undergoing intense chemotherapy and is losing her hair, but she’ll never lose her spark.
Since Kate’s diagnosis, many of you have asked ‘how can I help?’. Well, here it is. This is your opportunity to make a real difference.
I know that Kate will find this embarrassing, awkward and overwhelming, but on this occasion, I say, stuff her. Kate, you’d be the first person to drop everything and offer your support to us, so please let us do this for you.
A cancer diagnoses at 33 is life-changing in all ways – physically, emotionally, and financially.
We all know that Kate is superhuman. She doesn’t show pain, never complains and is still bloody working as a hairdresser, on her feet, for most of the week.
Kate does not have an income without working. If our donations enable her to take a day off (heck, a month off!), buy herself something special, swim with the whale sharks, pay for groceries, get a really sexy wig, or embark on a journey to seek options for parenthood down the track, then we can all be proud of ourselves. Small or big, whatever donation you can make, you’re helping Kate now and into the future.
Kate recently shared her story for Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. Even in her darkest hours, she’s still out there trying to help others: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/fitness/article-13049827/Kate-Wylie-ovarian-cancer-symptoms-warning.html
You're welcome to share this GoFundMe link with others who would like to contribute. This is a way to show Kate how much she means to us.
Please help our incredible friend and her backwards butthole. Nobody deserves this. Kate has brightened so many lives. Let’s do our bit to brighten hers.
