Emergency Medical Crisis Please Help Katelyn’s Family

Hi everyone, I’m organizing this fundraiser for my best friend Katelyn, who recently experienced a life-threatening medical emergency while out of state with her husband and daughter.

What was meant to be a joyful trip to Arizona for her brother’s high school graduation quickly turned into a nightmare. Katelyn was rushed to the ER with sudden, severe internal pain. After an urgent diagnosis, she was airlifted alone to a trauma center over three hours away, where she underwent emergency surgery and received a blood transfusion. Her husband and daughter had to find a way to meet her there as quickly as they could.

Since surgery, her recovery has been complicated and critical care teams have had to intervene multiple times. While her condition is slowly stabilizing, there’s still a long road ahead—and right now, her focus needs to be fully on healing.

Katelyn and her family are now facing significant financial strain. Their Idaho-based insurance may not cover all the out-of-state emergency care, and they’ve already exhausted their paid time off. That means lost income on top of unexpected costs for lodging, food, and travel.
