On Monday, January 26, 2026, Katelyn and Josh Escamilla were involved in a serious snowmobile accident while on vacation in Wyoming. Tragically, Josh passed away as a result of the accident. He was deeply loved by his family and friends, and his kindness, and steady presence will always be remembered. While our hearts are heavy with grief, we are grateful for the many memories and the love he shared with those around him.

Katelyn survived the accident and is currently receiving intensive care. She has sustained significant injuries and remains under close medical supervision. Although her recovery will take time, we are hopeful and prayerful as she continues to fight and heal.

I have created this GoFundMe to support my cousin Katelyn, her husband Josh and their families during this incredibly difficult time. Katelyn's mom, Helen Lechner, has set up a bank account for Katelyn to receive the GoFundMe funds through as she will be managing the funds on behalf of Katelyn and related expenses to Josh's funeral and memorial. Donations will help cover Katelyn’s medical expenses and ongoing care as well as funeral and memorial arrangements for Josh.

Any contribution, no matter the size, will help ease the financial stress and allow the family to focus on healing and supporting one another.
