To all our friends, family, and acquaintances,

Our dear friend Katelyn Thibodeau was recently given some devastating medical news—on January 31st of this year, at age 32, she was diagnosed with uterine cancer. Katelyn is a loving, kind, and supportive person who loves board games, positivity, art, and her giant dog, Hunter. She has never hesitated to help those in need. She currently works multiple jobs, including returning to work behind the hair chair last fall.

While cancer is the last diagnosis anyone wants to hear, Katelyn is taking all the steps she can to fight this. It is an uphill battle, as many of you know firsthand. The many expensive medical bills from tests, scans, biopsies, and co-pays add up quickly. Katelyn’s next step is to have a major surgery in hopes of removing the cancer. This initial surgery costs $8000. This surgery will stage her cancer’s progression, and we will then know if radiation and/or chemotherapy will be additional needed treatments. With the cancer growth and size, she will need an abdominal hysterectomy, making recovery time longer. This has caused serious mental and physical strain, in addition to the serious financial strain from the medical bills, as well as lost wages during her extended recovery.

We are therefore creating this GoFundMe to help. Right now, the best way to help Katelyn is to alleviate the concerns that are within our control, primarily with medical bills and living expenses. Katelyn and her medical team will do the rest. The most important thing we can do is allow her to heal without the added stress of financial burdens.

All money donated will be used toward medical expenses, living expenses, and other miscellaneous bills during recovery. While we know that money is hard to come by in this economy, it is times like this when the true meaning of friendship and community shine through. Any donation in any amount is so appreciated!
