Support Katelyn and Kelsey: Recover from Fire

Thank you for taking a minute to read this request. My name is Tiffany and my husband is Cody. You may known one of us, or both of us, or we may be complete strangers. We are praying that this GoFundMe can change the circumstances for a couple of young adults who got dealt a scary and devastating hand just a few nights ago.

If you haven't had the privilege of meeting her before, Katelyn is Cody's youngest daughter and is sincerely one of the coolest and kindest people you will ever know. Katelyn is just 20 years old and lives in a small town in Tennessee (Cookeville) renting a 2 bedroom apartment with her friend Kelsey. I've not had the chance to meet Kelsey yet (we are in Florida), but I have no doubt if she is Katelyn's friend, she is pretty stinkin special too!

The evening of Thursday 4/3/2025, Katelyn and Kelsey's apartment was destroyed by a fire that originated in her adjacent neighbor's apartment. By the grace of God, both girls made it out of the apartment with their lives. But that is about all that they were able to save. Between the actual fire damage, smoke damage, and water damage from the fire hose, everything has been lost.

They have renter's insurance, thankfully. But as they work through the arduous process of submitting their claim, and jumping through insurance hoops, they are left literally homeless. The apartment is owned by a private owner who has been exceptionally good to Katelyn over the last couple of years. But there isn't a management company to appeal to for grace, and there are no other apartment units to relocate them to. They are leaning on their family and friends for places to crash, food to eat, and even clothes to wear.

Being 20 certainly has it's perks, but being financially able to replace all of your household items, your entire wardrobe, and start over from scratch, isn't really one of them.

We are looking for any help that can be shared for Katelyn and Kelsey. Every dollar helps, and it adds up faster than you would imagine. The power of a community can be breathtaking and awe-inspiring in so many ways. Sometimes it takes a village. And these girls need a village right now. While certainly none of us have the funds to fully finance their journey to reestablish their lives, maybe we can all, little by little, ease this financial burden for them.

Anything you can offer to them to help them through this very hard time is unbelievably appreciated.
