SUPPORT KATE, HUDSON, AND ALLIE

JUST A DOG - said none of our friends or family ever.

If you know Kate, you know her love of her pets and really anyones PET!  She would move mountains for someone that was in need of a hand, she goes above and beyond on the daily for her friends and family.
On a holiday trip to visit family to Arizona in December, both of her beloved pups contracted Valley Fever.  At first, her older pup Hudson started showing signs of a respiratory illness, and was treating it as a cold/flu …but when her young dog, Allie, starts declining, with the help of a new vet, it was discovered that they had Valley Fever.  Post diagnosis, it was an uphill battle for Hudson.

Hudson, an 8 yr old Pitbull terrier, who Kate rescued as a baby dog, is in a whole new fight.  After a lazy Sunday afternoon, suddenly and unexpectedly had a 3.5 minute long seizure.  When it finally stopped, and he was able to move, he had completely lost his sight due to the intensity of the event…as doctors called it an acute seizure event.  He was raced to the ER vet, where they immediately started monitoring him for another seizure, placing him in their care for the night.  The prognosis was guarded, as the cause of the seizure had to be determined.  Hudson returned home Monday, with no vision, disoriented but still wagging his tail.  Post dinner, while resting, he had a his 2nd seizure within 24 hrs.

Hudson has been a healthy happy dog, and never has had any seizure related activity in his 8 yrs of life.  Long story short - his prognosis is unknown, with only some of the test results starting to filter in.  Hudson has swelling on the back of the brain, causing his loss of sight, he may never see out of the left eye, as the retina has completely detached.  The right eye is physically ok, but sight has no t returned after 4 days.  Diagnostics and ER vet care this week are currently over 8K and gaining.

Hoping for the best news, which would be that  Valley Fever has not gotten to his brain, and that’s all we will say about that for now...we just need that not to be the case.

Kate has a dog walking business that has lost 50% of her clients over the pandemic, as well bartends to help pay the bills…and we all know how well bartenders did this past year since bars and restaurants were all fully open ;/.  She lost her health insurance and most of her income…but nonetheless, still provides excellent medical treatment so her pups can be healthy again.  Most recently, the meds have worked and both Allie and Hudson have improved, lower fungal counts, but the fight is not over, as we learned on Sunday.
We started this fundraiser to try to take a bit of the financial worry from her, and to support near or far, with whatever donation you can make.  If you are unable to donate any amount, please consider sharing the link!  We want to keep this strong friend, who helps so many people, as much as we can!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
