Last week, Kate’s life changed in a single terrifying moment. At 48, she suffered a sudden hemorrhagic stroke and was rushed to the hospital. She is now in acute rehabilitation, working hard every day to regain her speech, mobility, strength, and independence.

But here’s what Kate is already proving: Adversity does not define us — our response to it does.

Kate has always been caring, loyal, and thoughtful — always there for others. As an education advocate, she has spent years supporting underprivileged students and nonprofits.

She has shown up for so many people. Now it’s our turn to show up for her.

Her recovery requires ongoing therapy, medications, transportation, living expenses while she cannot work, and 24-hour care during this critical stage of recovery. This fundraiser was created by her brother Tim, cousins Michelle and Megan, and close friend Jasmine. Every dollar goes directly to Kate’s personal account.
