3/10/25 Quick update While cultures did show bacteria growth, at this time NO surgical drains or procedures are warranted A specific antibiotic will be created to continue treatment. This was the news we were praying for since anything surgical is risky now. BONUS - She was up on her feet today! ❤️Thank you ALL for the support & prayers ❗️They have been heard. The marathon continues, but 7 weeks in & the finish line looms closer than ever ☺️
3/8/25 Update: It feels like an update is due on this journey that has become a marathon. A marathon has a clear finish line & Katheryn is in it to win it just at a slow pace. She was clearing hurdles and all set to transfer to a physical therapy rehab facility when an infection has again surfaced. It seems to be under control with antibiotics and pain is again being managed. ❤️ Culture results will show if another surgical drain or procedure is warranted but the hope is that it is local and under control! If you've been praying for and thinking of our girl please continue Getting to that finish line is a powerful achievement when shared with supporters cheering you on and we are grateful for each of you! ❤ The needed prayers are for good results tomorrow and a new date for transfer to a PT facility ♀️❤️
Matthew 18:20. "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there among them"
3/1/25 Update! As of last night, ALL tubes & drains have been removed! I won't go into details but there were many A few goals to reach and then we expect Kat will transfer to an inpatient Rehab facility to regain strength & function to be able to go HOME I believe it takes a village and am so grateful that our tribe had all of YOU in our cheering section! ❣️ From your lips to God's ears to Kat's bedside she is healing & we look forward to her going home. Personally, I feel blessed today and hope you all know how humbly grateful we are for your prayers, support & encouragement on this journey that feels like we are almost there! ❤️
2/26 Update! While Kevin & Kat's Mom Janis have been by her side around the clock - they have had to be her communication & advocates. It has been a very long 4 weeks (today) with slow & small steps toward healing. Kevin was very happy to announce today that KAT has FOUND HER VOICE! ❤ This breakthrough may not have been as welcomed by the nursing staff hearing her concerns...but we are applauding it and shouting AMEN!
Update: 2/23/25 - Our Kat has been downgraded from ICU to Primary Care! Moving forward with little successes she is strong willed and pushing on!
Hi friends, What began as a routine outpatient procedure has turned into a long time hospital stay and nightmare for our family. Beginning on 1/29 Katherine (Kat) has been hospitalized and now in ICU at Baylor All Saints Med Center Ft Worth. Now experiencing severe pancreatitis and other complications (pneumonia, flu) Kat's progress is long & slow. I'm asking for support for all of the expenses that have surfaced such as meal deliveries for her children and gas, parking, loss of work - to help make this difficult time easier to navigate. Prayers are welcome and have been heard! Thank you for supporting our Sweet Kat and her family!
