Support Kat & A.J.'s Parental Leave Fund

Hi! We're A.J. (30m) and Kat (28f), and we're expecting our first baby this July! We live in Detroit, where my husband works in manufacturing and I just started a career as an insurance producer with State Farm.

Blessedly, our jobs will allow us to take parental leave, but they cannot provide wages during the time off. We've saved as much PTO as possible, but it's not enough to cover the full 6 weeks, which is when most childcare centers accept infants.

We'd love to be able to take the 6 full weeks off work to spend with our newborn and not have to worry about bills going unpaid. The toys, clothes, strollers, and car seats, we can find second-hand or accumulate over time, but those first weeks with our first-born are something we can't get at a yard sale.

To raise a child it takes a village. Thanks for being part of ours!
