Support Kassidy's Urgent Mental Health Treatment

Donation protected
Hello, I am a Stay at Home Mom to 2 under 2 plus a special needs 14 year old bonus kiddo. I have been fighting with my insurance left and right for months to try and get them to cover a new type of treatment for my treatment resistant depression.

I’ve struggled with depression and anxiety for a very long time, but it has worsened postpartum so I am dealing with severe Postpartum Depression and PPA as well. I’m barely functioning as it is. My children are my entire world and I want to be better for them and for my friends and family. I hate asking for help, but I’m needing it, and I’m asking for my children not me. I have a therapist and have for years, and I have a psychiatrist, and they have both recommended due to the severity of my symptoms to try this treatment. It is provided by a clinic in Salem Oregon called OnWard Health and Wellness and they have an agency they work with for financing treatment. I have been trying everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) to get the help I need. On top of dealing with my autoimmune diseases started to flare again postpartum. I have Crohns Disease, and Uveitis.

I have been on a combination of antidepressants and mood stabilizers over the years (at least 8) some which have had detrimental effects (causing me to have su!€!cl@| ideation, paranoia etc). The wonderful thing about this treatment in Salem is that I have already started to notice a difference with my treatments, unlike most treatments which take minimum of 6 weeks to see any good side effects.

It’s a big toll on my family and on my fiancé who has to stay home and watch my two little ones while I’m treated, but we are willing to live even more meagerly than we do until we can pay it all off.

The reason of urgency for treatment is my mental health has been rapidly declining which is also affecting my physical health (I have a few autoimmune diseases). When your mental health isn’t doing well, your physical health goes with it. This has caused Crohn’s and Uveitis Flares for me, as well as chronic pain and inflammation.

My fiancé has taken unplanned time off work to help with caring for our children while I seek help. He will, in the following couple weeks, have to take some more time as well. To be transparent he has already taken time off unexpectedly for me to get help, including trips to the ER.

This is all really hard for me to share because it is the ultimate failure in my life… I want to be present with my children… I want to remember this time in my children’s lives as loving, and with hope. I know I will never get their younger years back. And, they will never have a Mom that loves them more than me. I need relief from years and years of debilitating depression and anxiety, and that in itself will help keep my autoimmune conditions in check.

Another pro to this treatment, is it not only is long lasting, but on top of treatment resistant depression, anxiety, it also helps treat PTSD, and even chronic pain which I also struggle with.

My fiancé only gets paid once a month on an inconsistent day (The first Wednesday of each month instead of a set date). I needed help months ago and have been trying to get through the red tape of health insurance, which ultimately has not been helpful at all. I used to work in the industry ,before children, and despite hours of research, meetings, phone calls, chart notes, PAs, physician recommendations, and care coordination, it has been a dead end.

My babies are my entire world so if you can find it to donate any amount to help me get this treatment I would, forever, be grateful. I am willing to work for it as well, when I’m able to get to a more stable place with my health. As long as you don’t mind me bringing my children along!

Mental illness is as real and devastating as physical illness. I wish we could see that as a society, but getting appropriate mental healthcare in this state is maddeningly difficult. If you have questions about the loan agency or the treatment feel free to message me.

One way I hope to give back someday is going into the mental healthcare field myself, when my children are a little older, and I am healthier. Thank you for taking the time to read. I am happy to receive payments others ways as well as GoFundMe does take a portion of the money raised* I have also added a link DIRECTLY to the agency funding my treatment for direct payments below**

If you’re unable to donate I completely understand, and I would appreciate it if you could share this.

Warm Regards,
Kassidy
