Hi, my name is Kelly, and I’m reaching out as a father doing everything I can to help my son, Kasey.

This is not easy for me to do—I’ve never asked for charity before—but I’m turning to GoFundMe because we’re out of options. Kasey has been battling a painful and serious illness called diverticulitis since January. He’s been in and out of the hospital for months, and after trying every other solution, he’s now scheduled for major surgery on July 21st.

Kasey hasn’t been able to work consistently due to constant infections and hospital visits. He tried driving for Uber, but the pain and illness have made that almost impossible. Before all this, he had just launched a small business and was excited to start a new chapter—but his health forced him to give that up.

After his upcoming surgery, he will need time to fully heal and recover, and during that time, he simply won’t be able to work at all.

What We’re Asking For:

Kasey’s monthly bills—rent, car payment, and other basic expenses—total around $1,700. He doesn’t qualify for disability or unemployment because he’s self-employed. I’ve done everything I can to help, but I just can’t cover his bills right now on my own. I don’t have family I can turn to for help with this either.

I’m hoping to raise enough to cover a few months of essential expenses while he recovers. This is temporary help—just to carry him through until he can get back on his feet.

Kasey is a good, kind man. He doesn’t drink, doesn’t do drugs, and is the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. He’s a man of faith, goes to church, and would never ask for this kind of help himself

But he needs help.
