If you know me, you know that asking for help is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. I've always been someone who tries to handle things on my own, which is why creating this fundraiser has taken a lot of courage.

I was diagnosed with Stage III Breast Cancer previously and, after a long biopsy last week, it has progressed to Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer. My life changed in an instant, and I'm now preparing for a long road ahead. Over the next 20 weeks, I'll be undergoing chemotherapy while continuing to work as much as my body allows. Some days I'll be able to push through, and other days treatment and the side effects will make even the simplest tasks difficult.

These five months of chemo will be just the first step; surgery, intense radiation, and hormone therapy will follow, making it a long process. As scared as I am I know that I have an amazing group of doctors and staff that will do what’s best. With faith and prayers I am remaining positive.

So many friends and family have reached out asking how they can help.

My biggest priority is making sure my boys and I can continue to keep our home running during this time. Any donations will go toward everyday household expenses—mortgage/rent, utilities, groceries, gas, medical expenses, and the countless day-to-day costs that don't stop just because life does.

Every act of kindness helps lift a little of the financial burden so I can focus my energy where it's needed most: fighting this cancer and spending precious time with my boys.
