Support Karolína's Dream at YAGP Finals

Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters of the Arts,

We are reaching out to you with an urgent request to support our exceptionally talented student, who has been given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete in the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) Finals in Tampa, Florida this April. YAGP is the largest and most prestigious student ballet competition in the world—the "Olympics" of the dance world—where the most promising young dancers from across the globe gather to compete, train with top instructors, and earn scholarships to world-renowned dance institutions.

Karolína’s journey to YAGP has been nothing short of extraordinary. After years of training in the Czech Republic, her home country, she delivered an outstanding performance at the international Dance World Cup. There she was awarded a full scholarship to participate in the European semi-finals of YAGP. However, she had committed herself to studying abroad at Wyoming Seminary in Pennsylvania and could not pass up a different opportunity for self-growth. Fortunately, she was able to compete virtually and, against a global field of elite dancers, she placed in the Top 12 of the Senior Classical category with an impressive total score of 93.000! Her success earned her an invitation to the 2025 YAGP Finals in Tampa—a dream opportunity for any aspiring professional dancer.

Attending YAGP Finals is not only a prestigious honor but a critical stepping stone in Karolína’s educational and dancing career. This competition provides young dancers with direct exposure to directors and instructors from the most esteemed ballet companies worldwide, including the American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, and The Royal Ballet. More than $5 million in scholarships have been awarded through YAGP, opening doors for students to pursue their artistic and academic dreams. These scholarships could also allow her to continue her studies at Wyoming Seminary beyond her sophomore year, another dream she fosters after immersing herself in the school’s academic and extracurricular culture.

Unfortunately, the financial burden of travel, training, and competition fees is significant, and her family cannot afford the costs alone. Karolína’s very presence at our school is based on scholarships and sacrifice by her family. That’s why we are turning to our community for support. Your generous contributions will help cover: travel expenses to Tampa; competition fees; intensive training and coaching; costumes and performance attire.

Beyond her remarkable dance achievements, Karolína is a dedicated and involved student at Wyoming Seminary. She has adopted our community as her own, refusing to miss a moment that might educate, enlighten, or enable her to grow as a person. She performed in our school musical, “Once Upon a Mattress” as the lovable, but cheeky Jester, then dove into our Winter Workshop performance. She has helped new friends by filling in for performers in shows outside our community, learning choreography in just a few weeks so that a winter “Nutcracker” performance could go on. She sings with our Chorus and attended the PMEA Regional choir festival. She participates in Model UN, the Science Olympiad, and prepared for the National French exam even though it is her first year studying the language.

Her dedication to excellence in both the arts and academics is a testament to her hard work, passion, and determination. She is not just representing herself—she is representing Wyoming Seminary and inspiring her peers through her talent and perseverance.
