Hi, my name is Karma. I am 6 years old and an 87 pound lap dog. I love to run, play and cuddle with my human. My favorite hobby is chewing up Kongs, which I hear are supposed to be indestructible.

My human recently found out I was sick. We had to make an emergency visit to vet where I had to get several x-rays, blood and urine tests, and a sonogram (no I'm not pregnant, lol). At that visit, my human found out I had 5 kidney stones the size of quarters and a severe UTI. That day I was sent home with medicine and we had to wait for all the test results to come back.

The next day, my human got the results and we found out I had diabetes. Just like humans, I now have to get two shots of insulin a day for the rest of my life. In the short term, I am to focus on overall getting better by treating the UTI and getting my diabetes under control. Due to the size of the kidney stones I am going to need to have surgery once I am better to have them removed.

As you know vet visits are expensive and getting surgery and needing to be sedated is also going to be expensive for my human. I am going to need to make several more vet visits to make sure I am stable enough before I have surgery. I very much want to get better and spend more time with my human. I also have 6 year old human sister who adores me and a dog brother that I enjoy running around and playing with.

My human will use all donations to pay for past and future vet visits, my needed surgery, and my continued need for medicine as diabetes is something I will always have.
