Karma has brought so much love and light into so many of our hearts. I can't express how much everyone checking in has meant to me. She really is the best girl. Many of you know that she is my soul-dog, the one that has been through all the major milestones with me. I would be completely lost without her, and this weekend was a very big scare.

On March 16th Karma woke up not acting like herself at all. She refused to walk or eat. She had a horrific cough. Her eyes had a more glazed/dull look to them.. I immediately took her in to the ER Vet and they diagnosed her with pneumonia. As she's about to be twelve and is shy of 100 lbs, this is a really big deal and can get very serious quickly if not treated. I took her home that evening with meds and stayed up all night with her but she did not improve. Unfortunately, on the 17th she ended up being admitted as she had to be under supervision 24 hours a day. Her stay ended up lasting 36 hours. She has never been 'sick' before or needed this kind of care.

She's finally home, but we're just at the beginning of a 6-week long recovery. This unexpected emergency comes at a large cost, but she is priceless and worth every penny. I've never asked for help before, but any contribution during this difficult time would be deeply appreciated.
