As many of you know, our beloved Karma Mattson has been diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), a devastating neurodegenerative disease. Karma, known for her strength, positivity, and unyielding spirit, is facing an incredibly challenging journey. We are reaching out to ask for your support as she navigates this difficult path.

With her current condition, small things we take for granted have become difficult tasks. Family members frequently take care and have to be on call for every need. She is unable to walk anymore, and motor functions have significantly decreased, affecting nerves in the legs, arms, hands, and even speech. As this irreversible disease spreads, more will be needed for healthcare.

ALS has a big impact on a person’s life and their family, and for Karma, this is no exception. Along with the emotional toll, the financial burden is overwhelming. The costs of ALS care are significant and include:

• Home Modifications: Ramps, stair lifts, widened doorways, and other adjustments to ensure Karma’s home remains safe and accessible.

• Medical Equipment: Essential tools such as mobility aids, communication devices, respiratory support, and feeding systems, which are critical as the disease progresses.

• Medications and pain management: Life-sustaining treatments and medications, such as Riluzole, to manage symptoms and slow disease progression, often costing thousands of dollars monthly.

• Doctor visits, procedures, and ongoing medical care that require frequent appointments and specialist consultations.

We are asking for your help to ease the financial strain and ensure that Karma can continue to receive the care and support she needs. Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward covering the costs associated with her care.
