Family and friends,

Thank you all for reaching out and giving your love to both myself and Andres as we have shared our memories and began processing the loss of our little Potato. I am sure many of you are surprised by her passing, from what we knew Eevee was overall in good health although she was going on 13 years. She had some elevated liver values we had been keeping an eye on for a few months and about two weeks ago had actually gotten a clean bill of liver health on blood work from our primary vet.

Unfortunately, last Friday she had some symptoms that concerned us and we took a trip to her primary vet to learn she had exceptionally elevated liver values again which warranted treatment with fluids, medications and prescription diets. She seemed to improve Friday evening and into Saturday morning. However, on Saturday afternoon around 5:50pm, she started experiencing extreme neurologic symptoms and we immediately rushed her to the ER vets at UF.

It was confirmed that she had a liver mass and had potentially suffered a stroke or other event leading to her neurologic symptoms. Without being too explicit, she was ultimately afraid, in pain, and would no longer be able to do anything that she loved. We brought her home to say goodbye to Lilly, Juice, and Purrari and to have a few more moments to give her our love. We then took her back to the ER vet to say our final goodbye.

Between these events and our final goodbye the vet bills stacked up quite a bit for us. We appreciate any help and support you can give while we continue to grieve and learn to move forward without our little Potato. It has meant the world to us already to be surrounded by so much love and support from all of you.
