At the end of March, our friend Karlee was in a devastating car accident that changed everything.

She was a passenger in a car when a truck crossed two lanes of oncoming traffic and hit the vehicle head-on. Karlee suffered severe injuries, including two broken legs, a broken arm, a broken back, head trauma, and many other injuries. She has been in the hospital ever since and has already undergone seven surgeries.

Karlee’s road to recovery will be long. She will need time, medical care, rehabilitation, and support as she begins the process of healing from injuries that no one should ever have to endure.

Unfortunately, the driver who hit her did not have insurance. At the time of the accident, Karlee was eager to start a new job as a school counselor the following week, but that opportunity was taken away due to long expected recovery time. Because of this, she is now facing not only the physical trauma of the accident, but also the financial stress of rent, student loans, medical-related expenses, and everyday bills while she remains hospitalized and unable to work.

We are creating this fundraiser to help take some of that burden off Karlee’s shoulders. She deserves to focus on healing, not worrying about how she will keep up with bills after something completely outside of her control.
