Supporting a Loving Mom in Her Time of Need
I want to share the story of my dear sister Cynthia, a single mom of two amazing girls, ages 13 and 15. She’s always been the kind of person who gives her heart fully to others. Through raising her daughters with love and strength, taking care of her elderly parents and nursing them to their final days, or through the home daycare she runs where many kids have been cared for like they were her own.
Recently, Cynthia went in for what was supposed to be a routine colonoscopy. None of us could have imagined how things would turn out. During the procedure, her colon was punctured. Unaware of this, she went home. A few days later, she was rushed to the ER with a life-threatening infection. She underwent an emergency 12-hour surgery that saved her life, but it’s left her with a long and difficult recovery.
She has to close her day care, her livelihood, for at least six to eight months. And in about four months, she faces yet another surgery to complete the resection of her colon. This means her daycare, the source of income that supported her and her daughters, is on hold.
If you know Cynthia you know she has always been the one to step up and help others. She’s kind, selfless, and always willing to give. Now, she needs her community to step up for her.
This could happen to anyone. Something so routine turned into a fight for her life, and now she’s navigating the hard reality of healing while trying to keep life stable for her girls.
We are asking for your help to ease this burden, whether that’s through a donation or simply sharing her story. Every little bit will go toward medical expenses, household bills, and making sure her daughters have the security they need while their mom recovers.
Let’s show her that she’s not alone. Together, we can give this beautiful family the support and peace of mind they need right now.
With gratitude,
Karla & Myriam Gomez.
